The Next OS X code name?

So post what you think may be the next code name.

my favortie is Lynx although i have heard lion, couger and bobcat being thrown around

Puma was already used for 10.1.

The 5 most logical names for 10.5-10.9 would be Leopard, Cougar, Lynx, Bobcat, and Lion (saved for last, king of OS Xs).

It won't be Lynx... because that is the name of a text-only browser for unix. :)
 
What was the progression to start?

Cheetah (10.0), Puma (10.1), Jaguar (10.2), Panther (10.3), and Tiger (10.4) so far?


In any case, once we get to OS XI (11) I am going to strongly petition Apple ro codename it "Tufnel"
(A cookie if you know what I mean)
 
i personally think 10.5 will come out when Longhorn comes out, and will be called Lion. "It's good to be king" etc etc...
 
10.5 will be the last of the cat names. After that they will go to something else.

Lion will be the name for 10.5 - after that who knows what they will do. I bet they dont know themselves beyond the fact they are gonna change it. Thats late next year, 18 months away, and then another 18 months after that before they have to put out OSX 10.6.

I predict they will make 10.6 the first real 64 bit OS X and make a play off that.

I dunno...maybe they should use another animal name like...I dunno, like-OS X Neanderthal, OS X Horse, OS X Duck-Billed-Platypuss......or they could name it after a different fruit! Like: OS X Pomagranite.....possibly OS X Kiwi. Or herbs...OS X Dill Weed, OS X Hearty Italian Seasoning.....Just some ideas....anyone think any of these are possible??? :p
 
i dont know about 10.5, but i bet after that it goes to OS 11, of course with a whole new set of code names. :)
 
Or they could even name it after deadly viruses....I dunno, smallpox, HIV, whatever. :p
