Good lord...if you're spending $1000 on a video card, please play for my plane ticket to come slap you. When is the official release date of this thing anyway? I thought it was today?
 
I don't see what the fuss is about:p People paid $800-$900 for a radeon x800 xt/pe when they came out:p plus, this card is supposedly going to cost more anyway... like $600 or something:p

On the other hand, for the same price you could get a dual 6800 GT system, mobo and all:p

nobody would pay for the performance difference at that price considering you could overclock an 800xt.

the price is really about the ability to say "nyah nyah i got it first suckahhhh!!"

but yeah, to each his own.

Exactly. And the SLI 6800GT setup will beat that card easily too.
 
Maybe to us the price seems a bit too high(well a lot in my case), but there are always people who blow 1000s like we blow 100s or in my case 10s ;)
 
Isnt the card supposed to have dual DVI? In the ebay pics, it shows VGA and DVI.
 
I can still somewhat understand paying 1K for dual cards. But 1K for ONE?! That's reeaaally stretching it!

ns i could buy one easy but never ever do i pay retail especially hugely inflated bs egay prices. Lord help the guy that buys one only to see it for 300 less a week later. lol

I thought it was wierd that it didnt have Dual DVI, Vivo or that white connector behind the ATX power plug, but if you look at Sapphire's website they have pictures of the X850 XT exactly like the ebay one, except for the stickers on the heatsink

kind of defeats the purpose of an MSRP.. its worth X, but what the hell... lets double the price just because we dont have many!
