the new Mr. Freeze

There is a computer here at work... it has been used mostly as a print server for the last few months.. may have been years for all i know... it is a 750 pIII, i think.. anyways... people are all like "the printer doesn't work" so i check, and the computer is actually the problem.. it keeps freezing... i got to it, and it was locked up... when i restarted, it ran fine.. i blew away the printer drivers.. reinstalled the printer and all was fine..

so then i ran spyware.. did the windows updates, defraged... and it looked fine..

i come back an hour later and it is locked up again..

so i went to bios, and lowered the bus from 133 to 100... so now it shows up as a pIII 550E.. it was idling at 32 celcius at 733... so i am guessing it actually is a 733.. i think it was running at 6.1 volts too.. and no one would have touched the bios, so it was probably running like that for years just fine...

so anyways... could it be a software problem? it seems to be fine if someone is using it, and onyl will lock up when idle...

i am running NAV scan right now.. and i hope it doesn't lock up...

anyone have any ideas?

ok.. i think the problem is probably the motherboard... i had 2 other computers here with this same "eupa" motherboard.. and they all got brown crap on the top of the caps and decided to freeze... this one doesn't have the brown crap on the top of the caps though...

and i can't read the info on the cpu becasuse it is blocked by the wierd sized psu, that is vertically mounted.. it is a slot 1 though
