Hopefully that will lay to rest any further nonsense about a G92 8800 GTS.

That just means their statement is now not including the HD Video playback, on an unreleased product.
On the G92 GTS is anyones guess. Probably will be excellent.
It will be updated again apon release I bet.....
How to identify the difference.
OLD 8800 GTS (320MB or 640MB)
NEW 8800 GTS (512MB or 1024MB)
After going all fubar on the Naming Nvidia should make an official statement otherwise people will be waiting for the 8800 GTS G90 with 256sp 2Gig memory.
G92 with 128 shader processors, 256bit bus and 512/1024 mb ram probably won't be named 8800GTS
Actually, the 8800GT comes in 256/512meg flavors Eventually you'll see 1 gigbyte versions of tghis, bjut not quite yet.
FYI - The 'new' G92 GTS is probably going to beat the 'new' GT.
what are you saying no for? the GT is supposed to eventually have 256mb and also a 1gb variant. Im not saying that the 1GB 8800GT will ever happen but has been mentioned on more than one occasion before there was ever even a rumor of the G92 8800GTS.No, 1GB will be on the new GTS model, whatever it's called. It'll come in 512MB and 1024MB models, just as the GT comes in 512MB and will eventually offer a (rather pointless) 256MB model.
256MB being rather pointless because anyone doing DX10 gaming (or even any remotely recent DX9 game on High settings, needs a 512MB card.
I am hoping the new cards catch allot of people by supries, on how fast they really are.
I think the new GT did.
Good for the consumer.
read the thread since there appears to be more than ONE source saying the G92 GTS is a real possibility. Dailytech, for example, doesnt just make up crap. We've already seen the "new" GTS and it turned out to be nothing more than a quick cash-in on the part of a few manufacturers, then the out-of-context snippet about a 512 MB GTS that people took as confirmation of a G92 GTS was changed, so why do people still persist in the belief that there's going to be a G92 8800 GTS? It makes no sense and there's no evidence whatsoever in favor.
