2 x 74 G Raptors Raid 0
1 X 160 G Barracuda for OS
It is coming together quite nicely! I have taken a few pics, but I am waiting to post them from start to finish this weekend.

Sorry, I just don't believe you...
When you post your pics could you also include your Asstin Martini? :)
And please give a total of your spendings, you know, just so we know that we what we should be jealous of. :D

Addition: I think that a 74 gb Raptor would be better choice for running your OS. I have two 37 Raptors running XP in one PC and it's running slower than my other PC running a single 74 gb Raptor. Just a suggestion...

I will be more than happy to post them, just tell me how you post photos here and I will post the Aston photos now, or PM me with your e-mail addy and I will send them to you now.

Alot of haters on the forums now, i remember the days of posting pics of a 4000.00 computer and never hearing people say " you cant afford that, i dont beleave you"

I know what he paid and you wouldn't believe me or him so I'm not going to bother telling you. ;)

BTW, "theseeker" has PM.

I don't think he has ordered anything as of yet.

You have three choices when buying Aqua Computer equipment:

1. www.sharkacorp.com carries a large amount of AC gear and is taking regular (twice monthly) shipments from Germany.
2. www.snt-systems.com carries AC gear as well but only gets stock every two to three months so it is a crap shot when/if you will get your order.
3. www.it-trade.net is the distributor of AC gear for most of th world. You have to pay via wire transfer. Unless you are ordering upwards of 2000.00 worth of stuff, you won't save much money.

hot wheels, and a hot computer on the way.

regarding putting the OS on the raptors, though: i run windows on a pair of raptor 34 GB drives raid 0, and although it is a bit slow to load, once it is up i have my programs launching marvelously quickly. i usually keep large video source files on the raptors while i am compressing, and save to my IDE drives. it saves some time, which can add up on the big batch encodes.

i still can't believe that you are willing to shell out that kind of cash for watercooling, when phase change would be in the same price range, but whatever floats your boat........

Actually his rig is on the way and will be there at his pad Friday  and the balance is being shipped out of Sharka or SNT as I haven't been following all the developments to much.

Never ASSUME anything ;) and yes the Raptors in Raid 0 are a good choice for the OS. I run two 36Gb Raptors the same way. And in my case the OS loaded way faster than one drive ever did. Just make sure you make regular images (Drive Image or Ghost) of your OS so if it crashes you can be back up and running in less than an hour. Oh and make sure you keep all your other data in a single drive or RAID 1 or 5 setup.

Is aqua products better than danger den? only thing from aqua that i think i would get is the cpu XT block, also is it worth getting the High end 360 aqua computer cooling kit and buy the water blocks? or should i just buy everything seperate?

And i notice he bought two radiators, is two radiators a good idea if you want good cooling for your GPU/CPU? I don't want the cpu to heat upt he water then pass warm water to my GPU. Or will the temperature remaint he same after passing through the cpu. I also heard that the DTEK kit is good, how is DDTEK compared to Aqua?

i would say that no, aqua computer not worth it by a long shot, but my priorities are strictly for performance, and i don't care how pretty A-C gear looks.

D-tek block will outperform A-C with a suitable pump and rad. i would only actually get the pump and block from D-tek.

Well perhaps you should try before you say that? That sexy looking XT might just suprise you. :p

If you really want to know that about comparitive worth you should read this whole thread and this one here as well. I believe the only thing you get out of the whole kit extra is the Aqua Computer case logo (this is available from Sharka and I assume if you buy a decent amount they will just throw one into your shipment). It also depends on where you are located. If it is here in the USA then I don't think Sharka or any other distributor carries the kits as yet, but they have all the separate stuff to make one up. :)

As far as DD vs A-C I can only say that to me there is no difference. The DD *might* cool a bit better, but I don't think that will translate to any appreciable differences in your ability to OC your box or how long your gear will last...so who cares? :D

As I have stated several times, you just have to decide whether you want to be driving around in a Porsche or a Ford. They both will get you from point A to point B, but one gets you there faster and in a lot more style. There is also a certain amount of status associated with owning an Aqua Computer setup because not all can afford them.

Most of it arrived today, a day early! AC stuff is unbelieveable, the finish the packaging and the manuals, especially the 40 pager for the Aquaero. If the water cooling gods treat me well, I will have some pics posted Sunday. It is truly quite exciting, I dont think the Aston will leave the garage this weekend! Im sure my wife will not be as excited.

What do you do for a living , let me know since im poor and will be living in my car soon then a park bench.

regardless of how pretty the stuff is, it would never change my opinion since it would be a step backwards in cooling performance as compared to what i have now.

not as big of a step as it should be, but i'm working on that as soon as i get some parts in that i have been waiting on.

on the plus side: you live someplace warm. on the down side: america is not exactly a socialist state.

given the two rigs of yours that i have seen pics of, i rather hope that this is an overstatement.

true.......

i suppose that once i have my 911 in the driveway, i will look into an AC rig to sit prominently in a public area of the house.

until then, my computer will continue to sit beside my desk grinding through F@H units when i'm not using it for something specific.

blur ur plates man. ppl are cool but it only takes one to make for a bad day. nice ride. i have the same pc/ cooling for the most part but haven't installed the aqua yet. look forward to ur pics and mine. fyi nice wheels but u need to put some spinners on. not the good ones i mean those cheap-ass adavanced auto 50 dolla ones. lol

As the two rigs of mine were not mine, i will find myself on a warm park bench or similar area. No not an overstatment LOL

Still have an aquaero lcd/aquastream/aquatube water level sensor fresh from germany for sale

The 2 EVO's are in, the water temp sensors are in, the 2 LED's are in, the flow sensor is in, and I am debating upon the placement of the Aquastream? I dont like it in the Aquabay, I really don't want to see it. I am debating upon placing it in the bottom of the case. Any suggestions?

This is where you have zero clue. I don't know if you have noticed but it is not how well a system cools, it is where it cools. I have used DD crap in the past and found it did not overclock as well as the WW and Cathar blocks of the world. I can tell you my 3500+ overclocked just as well with DD and fat ass 1/2" ID tube as it does with my nice 6mm AC setup. While I might be 2c higher on temps, it has no affect on the overclock. The plus is my shit looks good now.
