Took these last night with my new mirror lens.

Nice man, last night her on Long Island, Mars was located directly under the moon, it was quite the view, but my crappy Sony DSC-P92 doesn't have enough zoom or features to get a shot without any noise. Really nice shot man.

Get mars in the picture too. It should be somewhere just below the moon in the early evening...at least it was when I looked last night... :)

I tried to get Mars in the pic, but because of the crop factor of the Digital Rebel I couldn't get the shot wide enough.

Nice shot. We have been clouded in here in Az on the week-ends. :(

So this is a Rebel XT? Thats beautifull! My current 2MP Canon A40 looks like crap at night....tons of artificats. You didn't have to clean up that black at all??

Well this helps me a little, because I'm thinking of upgrading to either a Rebel XT or Nikon D50 and was wondering how they handled night shots because I love taking pictures of the night and didn't know either handled the task. :)

Canon's sensors fair far better in low light (high ISO) situations. The DigiRebel and DigiRebelXT both have 1.6x crop bodies, the XT has a very improved sensor.

it's not the sensor, it's the image processor. That DIGIC II is the best in the business in lo-light and hi iso right now. What mirror lens is that?? FUN picture!! :) :)

Well the sensor has a bit to do with noise the lager photosites are less prone to leakage than a 8mp P&S beaucse the sensor is smaller and leaks more due to smaller photosites.

A great way to look at it is like Intels Prescott chip it leaks volatge into surrounding areas making it run hotter aka not as good, Now if Intel used SoI then it would run cooler and not suck so bad. ;)
