I have been building up a wish list on newegg.com for a "freshening" of my computer and one of the things on the list was a new case. But after looking at all the modern cases, not no mention this thread; http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1536600 I started thinking that maybe I need to utilize my old "free" Voodoo Rage case. Not really digging the newer design of cases today. What do you guy's think?
A little about the case I have, it's exactly like the case in the thread I posted a link to above. Its Black with anodized red interior. The difference is that it's signed by most (all?) of the Voodoo employee's as it was the last Voodoo Rage case to leave the facility. Rahul even signed it lol But the kicker is, they signed the case using their World of Warcraft character names. I was the first member of the Voodoo guild (Followers of Voodoo) to hit level 60 on my character and to christen the moment the guild officers, who were all Voodoo employee's including Rahul Sood, the owner of Voodoo decided to give me this case. As I stated earlier one of the guild officers that worked at Voodoo (his name was Ryan) told me it was the last Voodoo Rage case they had. I thought it was fantastic and promptly chucked my Thermaltake Xasier. lol
I have been contemplating selling the case but I don't know. I'd like to take advantage of all the modern case conveniences but this is such a beautiful case. How difficult would it be to water cool this thing? The airflow isn't very good with it and I worry about putting a new 6950 in it. I currently run it with the side panel off in order to keep my two 8800 GT's cool. I just wonder if I can improve the airflow enough to justify keeping it? Here are some pic's on the case from my last build 3 1/2 years ago.
As you can see my cable management skills aren't quite up to par to what the Voodoo masters were lol. I decided to take a few pictures because once I cleaned all the dust and crap out of it, I realized how nice of a case it was. It's now all dusty and full of crap again.
Would it be worth the effort to utilize this case or should I just go get a modern HAF, Antec 1200 or NZXT? I would like a tower but damn, this case is so pretty.
Heres what it looks like today;
