The Kin will be a HUGE flop

The only win for MS here is a fail by parents who don't know anything about cellphones.

Wow, im an engadget viewer, but since when are they the end all of predictions?
The only thing they nailed is that their pricing plans sucks, but if im correct there is a family plan available, right?

The only thing that will hurt the kin as i have stated before is price. And i forgott to mention the carriers price also. I dont know why didnt MS go with sprint because they have the best family plan out there. Sprint family data (unlimited) is shared. That decision makes no sense to me.

Agreed, MS has failed miserably in the mobile market.

Also check this out...can't wait to get this chip in a real phone.

If a 1.5GHz Moorestown performs no different than a 1GHz Snapdragon, Intel loses one of its major advantages.

This is what grabbed my attention..
Do they mean the performance of the snap is equivalent to the moorestown, or the OS isn't getting the most out of the moorestown?
Im more than sure MS is just trying to push their phones out the window ASAP. I like the specs of the moorestown, but i bet they will be expensive at first if it lives up to its promises.

I think it means the Windows 7 phone would not be able to take full advantage of the new Intel chip due to poor optimization.

Nope - the data plan is PER LINE - there is no equivalent "Everything" plan on Verizon.

Why would ANYBODY get this device when there are so many MUCH better (and cheaper) alternatives?

Don't get me wrong, I wanted this device to suceed but geez, they put a bullet in it's head before it was even born....

I wasn't quite sure where these devices would fit in the begin with.
This tween market which is where I feel this best would fit (or would have) is no longer what it used to be. The Tweens today (14-18) are far more mobile savvy than many of the adults. Even when I was that age 10 years ago it wasn't what we were looking for anymore. The younger generations are a lot more tech savvy and these niche phones that meet some unknown need won't work anymore.

Who is this phone geared towards? The Sub-14 market?

I think the device does what it is supposed to do fine, but I don't think what it is made for really meets any demand.

This phone appears to be the 'jitterbug' of data phones.

I suspect they are attempting to make a data phone (tounge firmly in cheek) for the older generation or at least this will be the only hope for this device in the end

That is what I was thinking when I saw this phone, this looks like something my mom would buy and shes a total retard in the computer/tech world.
