So it started on a crisp cold day, the air was thick and unforgiving...

I have a *file* on the hard drive of my computer that is ~ 4.5 gigz. The hard drive is partitioned into two drives, one of which has Windows XP Professional installed. I brought this hard drive to a friend's house in hopes of transferring this 4.2 gig file. Unfortunately he is running Windows ME. (He claims that Win ME is the best version and refuses to upgrade to XP, whatever) So I tried for about 45 mins to get the extra drives to show up on his computer... Nothing seemed to work. I would hit delete on start up and go into the setup. The computer recognized that there was another hard drive there. When in windows, in the device manager windows recognized that the hard drive was there. However I could not get into it.

My friend has his one hard drive partitioned into 4 drives. I tried making my hard drive the primary slave. I tried putting it in place of the CD-ROM. I even tryed running his computer off my hard drive as the primary. All of which I got no successful results. I've tryed, anyone have any advice?

(and no I don't have a DVD burner or no anyone else who does)

holy crap dude... Smack your friend upside the head for believing the ME is good at anything.

My guess is that ME if farking it up somehow so you'll have to eliminate that from the equation. Take his drive and put it in your box as a slave and throw your pron/warez collection on it that way.

Otherwise, go spend the $60 bucks and buy a DVD burner.

Your drive is likely formatted NTFS. ME will not be able to do anything with NTFS. Even if it could see it, his FAT32 drive can't handle >4GB files.

if he thinks win ME is the best out there i wouldnt even touch his computer you could download ubcd4win and transfer the file that way
