The Gridseed ASIC Thread

I just got my 20 gridseed package from zoomhash, came with 4 power supplies 12v 10a how many gridseed can each one handle for scrypt mining only. It came with 6 1 x 4 octopus cables so I figure I can do 2 with 6 and 2 with 4. Or do I not need that many psu's

That depends which PSU's you got. Are they the 360w ones?

Anyone have any ideas as to why only one of the 5 chips is throwing HW's?

In other news, 487Kh on my seed!

If you think all chips are "created equal" you will be dissapointed.
Would appear that you have exceeded the limitations of one device and others may follow.
Or it could also be that the pcb layout in that area is not quite as ideal as the other 4.

Pretty good, I just got my first Gridseed yesterday and set it up on a RPi I had lying around unused. No volt-mod yet (I'm not that steady with a soldering iron) but I've got it to about 380Kh/s unmodded.

So far I'm using the scripta Raspberry Pi image which seems to work pretty well, anyone else have any recommendations for controller images?

I've found them for $1400-1600. For 5 mh/s, it's another toy for me to play with hah. Not a terrible price considering the foot price, power usage, and that I can move my gpu miners to 100% scryptn or x11.

I am tempted to get a Blade. Man its super tempting...

Payoff is around 120 days if the market stays on current course. Do you guys thinks these could be viable for 12 months and then dump for 40-50% of value. I got some $$ stashed away that I could dump into this. I am torn with these ASCII's

It will be worth peanuts soon when the KNC Titan farm gets online and the difficulty goes into orbit, it's too late to be spending that sorta money on 5mh/s, I wouldn't do it personally but it's your call. I'm almost at ROI for my 20 Gridseed's, gonna sell them off soon.

I don't know man, 120 days is a LONG time in the crypto world. We're barely over 120 days into 2014 and look at the crypto world now compared to Jan-Feb. Things are way more fragile these days.

They do look cool though.

Because KNC never disappoints, lol.

They won't be disappointing themselves raking in the profits first before anyone else gets a Titan ;)

Thats exactly what I never got about the "pre-order" business. You aren't pre-ordering them, so KNC can gain capital to build them. You are pre-ordering for them to buy them and mine with them for a month or two ("shipment delays"), then you get shipped the device after they've used it for gain.

I don't particularly have issue with buying already shipping products, but pre-ordering so someone else can use my money while they have "delays", screw that.

Agreed, that's why I only buy gear that is in stock and ready to ship. At least I can calculate the ROI from now, and not take a shot in the dark guessing months down the road.

feel sorry for anyone that bought into that KNC -- looks like they took a lot of peoples money and are going to deliver a machine that's already been used for months to mine.

BFL did it before them. KNC was actually a quite a legit company, started to sell out to the BFL methodology around the Neptune release I believe.

Just been reading on forums there are 2 new blades shipping next month, a 15mh for 3 grand, and a 75mh for 10 grand.
