The GPU Upgrade Dilemma

For the hours and hours of buzz I get from playing most of the games mentioned(those 'crazy' Ruski, look even crazier in 3D!!!) plus quite a few others, IMHO, upgrading annually isn't such a big expense, compared to say my AFL(Aussie football) membership(reserved seats), or going to the flicks or a big meal, which in Melbourne can be an outrageous price. For instance, here in Aussie, a 580 is $600 odd, a 6970 is $400 odd, both tol of their brand. @most, around $10 a week in annual termz. Add cable internet and TV, another $20 a week....hard to find much of a night out for $30, let alone a week...I know this comparison is a bit convoluted but I'm sure yawl get what I mean..
anyway, I know not everyone can do this but eventually, after study etc is over, good money is coming in, spending ~$500 on a vidcard or$1000 on a cpu/mobo/ram wateva, is something you look forward to and the power drain of the card is not even a consideration...little time to stress over green affect during 'fun' time...
BTW - 3D headaches are less and less....drivers better or is brain just fried??
