Do the Asus VIVO Pro's flash as well as the Sapphires and give about the same results? The Sapphire card is blue... and that's lame. Asus' is red and pretty.

Someone take the 4 seconds it'll take to type 'Yes' or 'No' before I buy one god dammit!

I have to order one soon, I want an Asus one, not a Sapphire. Someone reassure me that it'll work OK and OC's as well as the Sapphires, in general.... bastards.

get a 6800GT
the x800's are not worth the hassle

most 6800GT's oc to ultra specs and beyond that...so imo stay away from the ati line up..there not worth the money...IMO!!

ATi cards may be more expensive, but from what I've seen, you can get some pretty awsome deals on ATi cards.

For example, I got my X800 XT PE for about the same price as a 6800GT. Which would you rather then?

It should flash, can ya tell us what serial number is?

id take the gt tbh, just put a arctic cooler on it. they perform ALOT better in D3, and alot of games will use that engine IMO. though the XTPE is good enuff in Doom3, i can run mine at 1280*1024, high quality, 2AA, every option set to max. 55 fps in timedemo ultra quality only 3 fps lower i think, not much difference from high qual in fps but too much loadin of textures, probably need 512 card for that.

we saw games like SOF2 and RTCW:ET use modified quake 3 engines, i could run q3 with a gf1 sdr at high settings, 16 bit color could never do that in the above games, maybe in the future some games will do that for D3 , XTPE will still run well IMO but the nv cards would be better.

apart from D3 theyre pretty equal.

Thanks to the only person who stayed on topic. I don't know what the serial number is, because I don't have it yet. I read through the 13 pages or so of the XT flash thread and saw that the people who did have Asus cards seemed to fair reasonably well. I was just looking for some reassurance that they could make it as well as others, I'm hoping so, because it's ordered. If anyone's reading this and has an Asus x800 Pro and has flashed it, if you can let me know your specific results I'd <3 you for it.

And to those who think x800 Pro's flashing aren't worth it, the current (and second place) 3DMark03 was made with x800 Pro's flashed to XT's (18K and 17K scores). Mind you, they obviously got lucky and are running phase change systems, but it's definately not a lost cause, I've made my choice already.

And AH786, no more posts from you thanks.
