Have anybody noticed a difference in build quality between the classic series and the v1000 series?

Looking at the pictures, I can see the clean cut perforated holes in what looks like solid 2mm aluminum on the v1000, and even the side panels look nice and thick and how do you say.. "scallopped" as shown here.

whereas on the pictures of some of the classic series, the metal looks somewhat thinner and more flimsy. Actually, I've searched over the web, and haven't been able to find a single closeup shot of a pc-7, pc-60, pc-61, pc-65.. plus, plusII, or whatever variation..

Also, some models like the PC-60B-PLUSII costs a good $50 more than a PC-7B-PLUSII. Is this purely because of the removable motherboard and other features such as the air-duct, or are their difference in quality as well?

This would be my first computer build, and because the case won't be "upgraded" for a veeery long time unlike say, the gpu or cpu, I hope to make a good choice the first time around.
Also considering - Gigabyte 3D Aurora & Antec P182,

I want something that looks nice on my desk, without being too obnoxiously large or bright.
What would really bug me is loose screws, side panels warping, rattly parts, those sorts of small annoyances you would find in cheaper cases.
