ok, i am considering going to the darkside (intel). i need a dual core (preferably C2D) and decent socket 775 mobo with pcie for 400 $. overclocking is possible and i have a fan so i dont need boxed, oem is possible. any suggestions ?

current rig

Athlon 64 x2 4400+
1 gb ddr 400 ram
nzxt apollo case
430 watt tt psu
ecs kn1 extreme nforce4 mobo
radeon x850xt PE

if you can wait just do that to see prices fall and stability issued fixed (on a few motherboards), and see what amd brings out... otherwise
i got my p5n-e sli, e4300, 1gb ddr667 ram for a bit less than $350

yeah, ive never really liked intel all to much but i think they have they edge in dual core right now and multi core period. always been an amd fan but eh, ill give it a shot.

Ahh so thats why you call it that, because you dont like them. Well, if your for ultimate performance intel is king these days, so youd be quite happy with it.

My rig:
$165 - C2D E6300
$190 - Intel BadAxe2
$150 - PQI 2GB DDR2-667 (def. a budget choice, but whatever)

$505 (incl. tax+shipping)
