The Gigabyte 3d1 requires a full 16x pcie lanes.
The tyan sli mobo supports 2 full 16x pcie lanes, as it has 2 nvidia chipsets....

Well, Asus is doing its own version of this..... one wich is 6600gt, AND

one which is dual 6800 ultra!
2 of these = quad 6800 ultra in one system!!!!

Of course very expensive, but very cool!!!!

You cant SLI the 2 6800 Ultras together (thus, have 4 ultras) because the SLI is already working to put the 2 GPUs together on 1 card. Would be cool though

While that is a great idea and far overkill for todays games (something I like) you'd be way to CPU bound to use it.

does that card come with extra supports to hold it up? that thing is huge

AND IT IS PASSIVELY COOLED!!!!

jk

I am waiting for SLI and the such to get ironed out (as in work in SLI out of the box upon install---games I mean) before I upgrade.

you'd need freakin fridge to cool that!

2 gpus running at 70* each...wow.....

THanks for the gant image. I guess you made all the the 56kers happy
