Oh, the heady days when I got the new Diamond Monster 3D to run Quake II at 40 fps at 640x480. Just for grins I re-ran that Quake II benchmark test last night with my new 6800GT and got 1,333 fps at 800x600. I guess today's debate regarding the merits of a 20fps difference between and ATI card and NVidia card in Doom 3 will be less important in 6 years when cards will be available that will run Doom 3 at over 1,000 fps with 16xAA and 16xAF. Just my wierd thought for the day.

Still cool though, because you can sync Q2 to the highest refresh your monitor supports, and it will never, ever, drop below sync. MMMMMMM silky.
Actually, some friends and I are about to do a 4 player co-op game of Q2. We'll be using one of the fancy sourceport/update things. Haven't decided between Q2E and Q2Max yet though.
