I'd just like to say that this site is probably the best source of information on computers that I have found. I have been reading on here for quite some time and I have never really needed to post because everything that I COULD ask has already been addressed.

I am currently building my first rig based on what I have read from this site and I feel very confident that my money was well spent.

Thanks again,
William

Don't forget to make a thread when you do your build, or ask any questions that you might have :).

Thank you. I'll be sure to do that.

Which forum should I post in? I saw Case Mod forum? but I wasn't 100% sure which one was for basic build projects.

Also, I am googling running 2 HD's with one 32bit XP and 64bit Vista. Is this possible or does Vista overwrite it? (i'll prolly find the answer in google, but just while I'm here.)

My plan:
I have 4 HD's
80GB<slave> - Full (Entertainment Videos)
250GB - Pretty Much Full (personal pictures and videos +games and music (mix) AND IS CURRENTLY XP 32-bit
640GB - New
250 (external book) - Full (mix of above plus some)

I want to:
640GB - 64 bit Vista for games/personal media/web browsing/ AutoCad and SolidEdge/Works

250GB- 32Bit Games(that are not 64bit compatible) others that are not 32 bit compatible

250GB external - (backup personal photos/videos) <this HD cannot run an OS it is merely for storage and has some makeshift Software

replace 80GB with Tb (as SLAVE) and use for Entertainment Media

Leaves room for another internal drive.

is this doable?

Thanks
William

If you don't know where your thread is supposed to go, chances are it should be in General Hardware. Also, you should post your question in the OS forum. Running Vista and XP off of two HDs is doable, although I'm not exactly sure how to set it up which is why you should ask over there.
