Tforce 9100-939 -> PATA Raid?

Dumb question time. I know the Tforce can do SATAII RAID,
but by any chance can it do PATA RAID?

I've got a few Maxtor 200gb PATA coming in on Tuesday
and just wondering how to play with them other than mere backup units.

I think I just want to do simple RAID1, pure mirroring for zero downtime and faster reads.
 
Ah thanks for the info. I was googling for almost an hour with no definitive answer.

Hey what about doing something crazy like two drives with SATA to IDE adapters?
Is that cheaper than buying a RAID controller? Will it even work?

Wow thanks for that tip. And it makes it portable to another system in case of mobo failure, etc.

This next question is probably more suited for the HD section but I just want to make sure that in a plain RAID1 configuration, since the drives are just regular IDE mirrors, you can literaly take off one drive and pop it into another system for a regular boot? Unlike RAID 1+0, there is no stripping or special formatting? Thanks!
