i just came back from vacation 2-3weeks and my computer came on for a sec and went off. it now won't turn on. i guess it's the PSU but how can i test it?

i read somewhere i need a jumper wire? what is that and how can i get one?

disconnect the PSU from the wall
ground yourself to the case (equalizing your electrical capacity to the of the case)
disconnect the supply from the mobo, cards, ect
but leave the fans and a single drive attached for a load
(the PSU needs a load on it to turn on)
reattach the PSU to the wall outlet
on the main mobo connector take a paperclip and insert it into the pin corresponding to the green wire (POW_ON, Power On)
and put the other end to any of the black wires (COM, GND, Ground)
any peice of wire will also do

its 5volt one amp so its a very very low amount of electricity and you wouldnt even feel it
(less than licking a 9 volt battery :p )
its just a signal to tell the PSU to turn on, you should see the fans spin

also read the ESD precautions and practices ;)
