I have two sticks of (IINM) Micron registered 512MB PC-133 ECC SDRAM DIMMs that came together with a Sun Blade 100 I recently purchased. It's missing a CPU and I'd like to run the RAM through a couple of rounds of memtest86+ to check that they're okay.

Anyone know whether this can be done with just any normal SDRAM mobo? How about if it was unregistered ECC?

BTW : If I can't get a CPU for the Blade 100, I might think about just selling off the RAM. PM for dibs :D

If you sell the ram, I might take it depending on size.

As far as testing it; KT133, Abit only KT133A (KT7A/KT7A-RAID), VIA ApolloPro133, and non-i840 chipset boards should take it without trouble.

KT133? That's jake. Have a IWill KK266 right in the house :p
They're 512MB sticks (Micron MT18LSDT6472AG-133B2). I'll test them and get right back to ya. PM with offer? :)

i presume this system is a single processor rig? if it doesn't have a cpu.. well, good luck trying to get it to boot to do some memory stabilty checks ;)
