Testing P4

Hey guys,

a 2.53Ghz P4 recently came into my possesion. I was asked to test it for my buddy, and I don't exactly know how. I do have a HTPC using a S478 mobo, so I popped in the P4 to test. It didn't boot up. Is there any special thing I need to do to go from Celeron to P4 on a mobo?? I don't have much expierence with Intel systems.

you might have to reset the CMOS to get it to post. But besides that, no.

(you did reinstall the heatsink with the new CPU, right?)

hold down the insert key while turning it on, if its an award bios itll boot with failsafe settings and it should automatically detect that cpu's 533fsb setting.

well, I've tried those tricks, but it still doesn't POST. So it looks like I have found me a new key chain. Or something. Does anyone know how to make a keychain out of a P4???
