Testing for dead pixels?

Ok, so I'm pretty sure I would be able to see a dead pixel, and I just got a new Samsung 740B 17" which looks great, I know its not a 19", but I couldn't fork out that extra 100 bucks or whatever canadian. Anyways, so the place I bought it I also got a 30 day 0 dead pixel gauruntee, so I'm wondering if there is any sure fire ways to test, I've already ran it on completely white and black backgrounds so far no seen dead pixels. Anything else?
 
sweet, well as far as I can tell I don't have any dead pixels, on my laptop I do though, but I already knew about that one, and my laptop is over a year old, so no big deal.

this is a little shameless plug, for this samsung 740B 17" screen I haven't tested it for gaming and the like, but the color difference from my laptop lcd screen (as I've not yet built my desktop I'm running them both of laptop) is astronomical
