Testing my buddy's e6300 for a week ( we traded cpus ), I must say Im happy to have multi to 9x on my e6600 cos this cpu is pretty hard to overclock..... Steeping on this cpu is L628???, its lapped so thats all the info my friend remembers, according to cpuz its a Conroe with B2 stepping.... My friend never had it over 3.5gs, lets see waht she does here.....
Specs
E6300 L28 watercooled with Swiftech mcw5000 waterblock
Asus Commando
Cucial Ballistix pc5300
PCPC turbocool 510
Orthos 4 hrs stable @ 3780mhz
Superpi 1M @ 3836mhz
Im not sure if I reached the max of this cpu or its my motherboard that is limiting this overclock.... It seems to be very strong to 548fsb then it becomes very unstable at 550fsb, thats weird ..... just shows the importance of having a higher multi than 7x.... I turned on my chiller and even at -15c, I couldnt get it stable at 550fsb so Im thinking Im maxing out the motherboard and not the cpu......
Overall its not a bad cpu.... I have it running at 3700mhz right now and its rock stable..... but I miss my e6600 already lol...
