Hi all,

I just got my Terratec Aureon 7.1 Universe installed and I have been trying to connect to the Terratec website for literally the past two days. I have been able at times to partially download the front page but that's it. It will not finish loading and I cannot download the updated drivers.

Does anyone know an alternate site from which I can download these drivers?

Thanks,

T-X

Wow thanks.

For some reason the website won't load up for me at all. But I can access the drivers through the FTP link you gave me. Thanks a billion.

No, it doesn't for me either. It just means I'm more 1337 than you.

*ahem*

I just tried ftp.terratec.net for shits and giggles, and what do ya know :p

Well, it seems like today is my lucky day. I have tried installing both new and old set of drivers and I still get this BSOD. Definitely has to do with the Terratec card since it mentions one of the driver files. To sum up the problem, everytime I run a 3D game (eg. Lineage II, Doom 3) and I exit, it does a Blue Screen of Death. It also seems to BSOD upon an alt-tab.

The following is importants bits from the BSOD:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Technical Information: STOP: 0x000000D1 (0xF8672010, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xF8672010)

*** TT1724ht.sys - Address F8672010 base at F8665000, DateStamp 3ffac313

I read on the microsoft site that D1 refers to hardware and it's drivers. Funny thing, however, I read in the driver history for the card that one of the first things fixed was a BSOD related to nvidia based systems. In that regard, I do have an nvidia graphics card. But I'm kind of lost on this one so I am waiting for the Terratec website to fully come online so I can question support on this.

Meantime, if anyone has any tips on this, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Just to update, I have tried changing PCI slots for the soundcard and still has the same problem. Right now I will be trying the beta drivers on the ftp.

Ok the beta drivers seem to have fixed the blue screen issue as well as an issue with small wav files. The older drivers were making them play at super speed. Now if I could only find out how to control this soundcard. My previous creative soundcard sounded differently when set between 2 speakers or headphone, the former sounding better on my headphones. However with the terratec, it doesn't seem to sound as crisp and clear. As well, there is no bass modifier.

The mission continues :D

Maybe you should put back your creative soundcard

The IRQ not less or equal error is a classic one. Lots of people have come up with goofy explanations, ranging from AGP fast writes to VIA 4-in-1 drivers to inadequate power supplies. I fixed my version of that problem with an OS reinstall, but go figure--everyone seems to have a different solution. My BSOD was related to the videocard drivers, as many, many other people seem to claim.

Yea the drivers definitely fixed the blue screen problem. I have yet to experience any bsods since their installation. However, I am finding that the sound quality is way off par from what my Creative SB Live! 5.1 Platinum was like. My understanding is that the M-Audio Revolution 7.1 is also based on the same chip (Envy24HT) and that it's sound quality has been said to be excellent.

Right now when I play music or in games, it sounds bland and unclear. Almost like the difference between tape (which it sounds like now) and CD. Could this be a driver issue (albeit all drivers produced the same sound) or am I missing something?
