I have an Antec P160 case, NF7-S, Barton 2500+ with stock heatsink, and two 120mm Enermax adjustable fans at lowest speeds. First of all does system mean case or northbridge? ok, my CPU temps never go over 54c load on a really hot day....the room temperature is about 80-90F. I am using the Abit software that came with my board...it seems to be right on track with the Bios's...only about 1c off. it says my system temps never go over 37c...is this all ok..i mean according to AMD there processers can go up to 70-75c before they shut down.

I would never settle for anything higher then 45c but thats just me :rolleyes:

the level that is acceptable is directly tied to the objectives you have

54C is acceptable and isnt "bad"
if the objective is a stable overclock for gaming or general computing with the likelyhood youll upgrade before the estimated lifespan of the CPU
but lower is better, however that would require a much lower ambient
or a different thermal solution
 
I don't need it to last that long...maybe something like a few years... even less maybe. It'll be alright
