I lowered the speed of my chassy fans (2x Enermax). My CPU temps got up to 58C with prime95...is my temp senser messed up or something (abit NF7-S) because I have good airflow using the stock barton 2500+ heatsink, which aren't suppose to be all that bad...

is your barton running at stock or is it overclocked? what is ambient temperature? what is case temp? how much did you lower the speed of the case fans? what were temps before lowering their speeds?

The barton is at stock speeds, the ambient temp that day was about 90F, the fans were pushing about 90cfm before, and now they are only pushing around 60, temps before lowering the speeds was about 3-4C lower. motherboard monitor says my case was under 40C...but I think thats the northbridge..I am not sure.

people generally agree that mobo sensors are not accurate, and I think usually a certain line of motherboards are all off in the same direction/roughly the same amount...however I can't recall if anyone has checked to see how far nf-7 is off

the case temp would be some other sensor on the motherboard, and sometimes they can be near hot electronics, thus influencing the reading.

an ambient of 90F could've definitely affected the reading as well though...
 
built in temp sensors are knid of crappy because theyre not calibrated. at least you dont have a P4, they read the CPU 30-60C wrong.
 
I mean heck...its not above 60c, it's probably too high anyways..should i worry about it? everything is running great...
