Temporary Solution to play games during summer?

I've maxed out my case fans to 4 fans (2 intakes and 2 exhausts) but my CPU temps are hovering between 40 and 45c (that's on a good day). I've never used the computer during the summer, because I built it around the first few weeks in July (when it was cooler). When I do play games, my computer beeps telling me that it reached the 50c mark. It usually shuts down when I go beyond 52c

Is there any temporary solution to let me play games during the summer? I have about $15, and since I live in Hawaii, buying something from newegg.com will jack up the price.
 
52 degrees really isn't a bad load temp. What kind of processor are you using that it can't handle temps above 52 degrees C? For a temporary solution, you could take the side off your case and set a box fan next to your computer. Although your problem may be more with your heatsink than with airflow.
 
You really need to put your system specs in your sig to be helped.

Thermalright makes some of the best heatsinks, i run at 28C idle with 1.95 volts.

Also, I've noticed if i leave my side panel off, my temps drop about 4C, and keep the air conditioning going in your house, when my airconditioning is on, i get down to 28C, but when it cuts off for about 20 mins it raises to about 31C but never above that.
 
I've the same problem. In the winter my A64 was running at about 43 under load, now in the summer I've underclocked it 10mhz and it idles at 40, getting into the 50s under load. Stuff's started crashing on me because of the heat, I'm probably going to re-set my heatsink and give it a good dusting.
 
Same here my Idle temp is 42-46C and when I play Far Cry it goes from 53-56C that's from my Hardcano 10 so probbably that the core is loading at 60 or something since I set the High temp beep at 60C(Abit Max3 so maybe some temp reading issues). Mine crashed one time while playing Halo. To solve I'm gonna watercool my comp. My WC box done and All set all I need is to install the blocks but since I have an external WC I have to cut a hole to the side but havent done anythin about it. heh

I'll fix my sig.

I don't have any AC, but I do have a house fan. But will leaving the side door open increase the # of dust/debris?
 
You could try undervolting and underclocking your processor.

Alternatively, you could try making a duct from an opening in your case to your heatsink/fan so that it always recieves cool air.

This guy did it the non-ghetto way and spent $150, but I'm sure you could do it for much less if you did it ghetto-style. http://www.overclockers.com/tips867/
 
i used to do vid encoding and my temps are about 54C (with fans at max speed) no problems with that.i've tried do some encoding with the fan at low speed (5V) the temps shoot till 63C but still stable...
 
I am in the same boat, I think I might get a new HS/Fan. I thought this stock one could cut it, but not in the summer. I am at about 55C for load, even though it seems to be stable I don't like it that high.
 
This guy is on an extremely restrictive budget. For $15 you can't get a performance HSF so its got to be something else. I recommend spending it on a desk fan, opening the side and sitting it next to it. I also recommend turning up the max temperatures in your bios - to about 65C for shutdown, it won't damage it. Don't worry about dust, with the side off and a lot of airflow from the deskfan not much should build up. If it does, just blast it out with a can of compressed air. Get that in a hardware or camera store ;)

How do I increase the temp settings in the BIOS?
