Temperature Reporting Problems

Both MBM and ASUS Probe are showing my CPU internal temperature as -80 degrees Celcius. (Note the Negative).

Could something be wrong with the temperature probe, and should I be worried about the rest of the Processor? I've done no Overclocking, and my system details can be found in my Sig.

As a sidenote, AI Booster shows my CPU Temp as 170 celcius. Is that even remotely normal, or is it something else wrong with something?

Thanks!

Oh, cooling is a Scythe Ninja w/ Fan. Temperature probe at the base is showing 30 celcius with normal operation. Just installed, so Arctic Silver isnt settled in yet.

I'm running back exaust, side intake, front intake, and top exaust fans.

30 should be right and 80 is wrong , very wrong .
But that said take it to the retailer who will change the board , which it most likey is.

Does it show up right in the BIOS but is reported wrong in windows with a temp monitor program? If so, its probably just the temperature monitoring program not translating your sensors right. My brother's MSI K9N Plat SLI AM2 motherboard is doing that with a few of the temp monitoring programs. Others work ok though.
