I recently installed an exos2 and trying to figure out the best way to get an accurate temp reading of the cpu. There seems to be a difference of a few degrees between what the exos probe is reading and what my motherboard is giving me. I used asus pc probe to get the cpu temp and its usually the higher of the two.

try using some thermal tape to put the sensor on the actual cpu on the side where the heat spreader and the base of the HS meet. That should give you as acurate as it gets temps

dont put it between the HS and the chip at all, just to the side of it.

well i like the water temp readings my self but i do run a probe to the back of the m/b under the cpu to see what kind of heat im moving
