Temperature Question, MoBo Reports 82c?

Recently the software temperature monitors (MBM5 and Abit EQ) report a temperature of 82c on my cpu. I don't see that temperature is even possible with watercooling (specs on sig). I have an external probe on the waterblock reading 39c. I tried to take the motherboard back to fry's electronics. They tested my MoBo and they found no temperature problem. Could this be the cpu or the MoBo giving me wrong temps? Are there temperature sensors in my cpu? If so, could those sensors be reporting the wrong temperature?
 
I've had a motherboard reading wrong/high temps. There's a good chance it's that. I'd listen to the watercooling one.
 
My bios reports the same temp. Yes the pump is running and I have also tried to reseat the waterblock. My hardwired temp probe reads 30-40c on my waterbock so I know its not a heat issue. It's weird, vary rarely the temp programs show me normal temps (30-40c), but usually it always shows the same high temp 82c. I don't see how the MoBo can be at fault when fry's said that there is no temp problem. Are there temp sensors in my cpu or just my MoBo?
 
So my temp monitoring programs aren't reading the cpu temp from the internal cpu sensors? I'm trying to figure out if the cpu or the MoBo is giving me wrong temps.
