Temperature Check... is this ok?

Alright so Ive had my watercooling setup for a few weeks now and want to see if temps are normal. To me they seem a little high but I will see what the experts here have to say.

FYI, this isnt my first water cooling rig by any stretch, but this one has me curious. Pic of loop below post.

Hardware:

AMD PII 965 BE @ 4.1ghz / 1.385 vcore
16gb Patriot Xtreme 1866mhz DDR3 (@ 1333 for AMD Memory controller safety)
ASUS Crosshair V Formula ROG Motherboard
EVGA GTX580 772mhz OCd to 900mhz @ 1.1v (Runs stock speed/voltage in 2D mode)

Watercooling:
EK 4.0 Pump
EK GTX580 Full Cover Copper/Acetal Block
XSPC Raystorm AMD CPU Block
Swiftech MCR360 Radiator
Swiftech Microres v2
1/2ID x 3/4OD Tubing
EK Fluid
Yate Loon Low Speed Fans (They still move a good amount of air, temps dont seem to change with my medium speed fans either, FYI)

Loop:
Pump>Radiator>CPU>GPU>Res>Pump

Temps Idle (Ambient is 73*f)
CPU: 36*c
Core1-4: 32-33*c (+/- 1*c)
GPU: 27*c-33*c

(Can anyone tell me why the GPU seems to fluctuate 6*c when idle and a steady ambient temp of 73*f? My space is very well conditioned and is a constant temp. I cant find any pattern of it, and when temps vs usage is monitored in Afterburner, the temps will rise slightly to 31-33'ish with 0% load all across the board)

Temps Load (Ambient is 73*f):
CPU: 50*c (Prime 95 Blend)
Core1-4: 48*c
GPU: 57*c (Played 3 hours of BF3 with Ultra settings and temps stayed around 52-54*c. Load was tested in 3DMark11)

So... with this overclocking i am doing, and the voltage bump, do these temps see acceptable on a 3x120rad and this setup? Im thinking of adding another 240 rad for my peace of mind. Sure, these temps are much cooler than air cooling, however was still $450, so I want to make sure nothing seems amiss.

CPU temps look fine to me though the GPU seems a hair high. I have not owned a NV card since my GTX 275 so I'm not sure what is normal for a 580 at your clocks under water. I run a single 240rad for my CPU/GPU loop and my CPU temps are similar to yours but my GPU loads under 40c. Of course all your temps are way better than normal air cooling and safe. Perhaps double check the TIM application on the GPU if it's a bit higher than usual.

Temps look pretty good for just a pull fan setup on that rad. If you went push/pull I bet you would see a decent temp drop.

I forgot to mention that I have since gone with a Push/Pull fan system since this photo was shot. So actually these temps ARE with 6 fans on the radiator. Sorry about that.

Evil Scooter, your 7970 is running UNDER 40*c at 100% load and a single 240 rad??? That makes me seriously think something is wrong with my 580 as these cards don't run super hot.

I bet your 580 overclocked that far pulls nearly twice the power as a 7970.

51*c at stock speeds. Still higher than I am expecting to see.

I wonder if anyone else with 580s will chime in.

your CPU temp is definatly high

My 1090T in ~80 ambient with 1.44v going into it was running low 40s load...with 6x AP-15s full speed on an RX360....not sure on the GPU though

Ya.. I'm simply not sure what is "normal" for a 580. Looks like we are both using EK blocks for the GPU though. BTW the ambient here is almost identical to yours so we can factor that out as well. Also, you are using a Swiftech MCR360 Radiator and I'm using a HW Labs. IIRC my rad has much higher fpi than the Swifty MCR series.

those temps pretty decent for a heavy overclocked gpu & cpu in a loop, very nice. I'd be worried if you were in the high 60's or 70c range on the gpu.

^^ The CPU temps are still rather high, similar setup ive got (atleast i thought the RX360 is roughly comparable....) with more heat going into it has lower temps (with a higher OC on the CPU with more voltage and 2 6970s instead of a single OCd 580.)

Check the seating if possible.

I really didnt think that 48*c at full load was so bad for the CPU, but I will check it. Regarding the GTX580, I was watching other videos of similar overclocks on water and was seeing the same temps as mine. Most were in the high 50s, some in the low 60s at benchmarking.

Last night I switched out my Yate Loon low speed fans for some 1800RPM 70cfm fans and the temps on the GPU dropped to 47*c. Im really not too concerned with the temps now, although I am going to be setting up a second monitor tonight and will see how much it jumps after.

I am running a 1075T at 3.3ghz with 1.26v core and I idle are 22 deg C core, 26 deg C socket and load around 31 deg C core 35 deg C socket with room temp at 71 deg F.

My HD5850 O.C to 800 Mhz core and 1200 Mhz memory idles at 36 deg C and loads at 40 deg C.

I am running the original D-Tek Fuzion I blocks on both the cpu and gpu.

So that should give you some more numbers to compare your temps with

Well I checked both blocks and came to the conclusion that I likely had WAY too much TIM on both. I was ashamed at how GLOBBED on it was. So I cleaned both of the blocks and CPU/GPU and applied a nice thin even coat to the heat spreaders and burned them in for a little bit.

Here are my preliminary results.

CPU Idle: 29*c
GPU Idle: 27*c

CPU Load: 42*c
GPU Load: 51*c @ 910mhz overclock
GPU Load: 46*c @ 772mhz Standard Clock

The bottom line is after watching many reviews, and many videos of other overclocked GTX580s, these suckers just run a bit warm when overclocked, but the temperature has massively improved, especially when the other night, I hit 63*c on the GPU playing BF3!!!

I used the Unigine DX11 stress test for 30min to get my max readings. Ive also noticed that the temps come down WAY faster after load, in the ball park of <5 min for the temps to read <30*c idle where as before the GPU never came back down to the low 30s, and sat in the upper 30s, low 40s.

So everyone who told me to check the TIM was right, it played a major part.

The other issue is I am running 1200 RPM fans on an MCR320-XT which has a MINIMUM of 1200rpm fan, and recommends 1600+ RPM due to the 20fpi. I think once I invest in the right fan setup, and do a push/pull, I will see the temps where they belong. Mid 40*s load GPU and high 30*s load CPU
