Temp Sensors on a Fan Controller

I bought a fan controller that has an LCD and also has 4 temp sensors that came with it. How do I mount these to the CPU, GPU, HD, etc. It comes with a small bit of yellow tape. Do I just stick it to the side of my HS on my proc? I'm assuming that putting it under the HS is a bad idea. What about the GPU? There were no instructions on how to affix them to the devices. TIA.
