Temp sensor placement?????

Ive got 2 that run to a digi read out on my new case. Question is where do I place them? one is for the HD and the other is for the CPU. I used a small piece of tape to place the on on top of the HDD, and the CPU one I just put between 2 of the fins on the Heatsink.

will that placement give me accurate readings? or is there someplace else I should put them?

I placed my CPU temp sensor right under the heatsink but not directly over the thlon 64 heatsink. I put it right inside that black thing that holds the HSF in.
