I see a lot of people state they have such and such temp on load....what exactly is that? loading up windows? loading up a game?.. Im using ati tool to log my temps and everyone has crazy high temps compared to me. I think ati tool might be stating the wrong temp.

I recently installed a zalman vf700cu (which I F'ing love), and Id like to know the correct temps. While browsing web/idle I get around 30c average. While gaming I get 50c average.
 
"load" means some app that generates 100% cpu load. Usually folding or some other cpu-intensive task, some designed specifically for that purpose.
 
That 50C figure you quote "while gaming" is your "load" temperature.
 
yeh...and in gaming its basically playing fear/sourcr/quake4/hl2 or whatever game you play...and the temperature is measured whilst in the game not once you have exited :p
 
alright understood thanks! before the zalman it was 70-75 now it never goes past 51 :)
