Temp Question (Very first time i care)

Yo, i have a p3 800EB since 4 years, running a single fan in the PSU,

i downloaded MBM5 temperature monitoring, and it says that my case/cpu is at 58-62 celcius while im currently writting this text, and its not movig more than +2 or -2 degrees.

Is 60celcius is very high?! im not overclocking this shit, and i never had heat problems for the past 4 years.

I was just wondering, please answer me

That is very high for a P3, I'd recommend reseating the heatsink.

does the case feel warm to the touch ?

maybe the sensor is busted...?

if it is that hot and you plan on keeping that computer for awhile, stick a fan or 2 in the case. there should be a spot for a fan in the back of the case.

so, you've had this CPU for 4 years? Never had any random reboots or stability issues? Are you seeing either of these things now? If not, who cares...the higher temps will def. shorten the life of your CPU but most of these bad boys are designed to run 10 years, you're already on year 4...so if it dies that's just a reason for a new CPU.

I say leave it alone unless you're seeing problems.

if those temps are real you will definitely feel it if you touch the heatsink

and if its that high there is something going wrong that case fans might not do anything significant about

my mate had a 1.8 that was minimum 55C and fans and reseating didnt do anything about it, it turned out it was the motherboard screwing it up and the ram and gpu got a lot cooler afterwards aswell

those temps are blazing man, most motherboards start their lowest shutdown temp. at 60 degrees C ...i'd opt for reseating the HSF, probably need some new thermal paste as well...
