Just set up a new loop

Having an issue with the dd-tieton blocks for my gtx260's. Showing temps of 47 and 53 idle.. up to 90C when runing 3dmark vantage. CPU is showing temp of 34/31/35/35 - cpu load doesn't hit above 45C

Why are my GPU's so hot? I took them apart and put them back together with same issue. Maybe too much thermal grease? I spread the thermal compound with a straight blade razor on the GPU's - Directions say to do this? On the cpu I put a thin line where the CPU core is lined up according to arctic silver's website. I used AS5 and not the thermal compound that came with the blocks.

What are all the components in your system and all the watercooling components you have?

It's just me, but whenever I do a thermal paste spread, I use the "dot and squish" method every time. I just put a small dot on the GPU/memory/CPU/etc. and let the pressure of the heatsink spread out the compound. I used Ceramique on the RAM and GPU of me 4870x2 so I wouldn't have to worry about anything shorting out. Are you sure that not only the block is mounted properly, but it's screwed down enough?

Be careful with that arctic silver. Don't let it touch the pins. Alternatively, their ceramic stuff is quite nice, and won't fry anything if it happens to touch some pins.

Big improvement but still a large gap between both cards. I will leave them for now but probably will redo it again if I get a third block for the gtx sitting on the shelf :p

Question is how do I know which card is at 48C idle?

Update - The hotter card has dropped about 4C after setting over night.. I guess the paste cured more. All is well. I'm going to sell my last gtx260 - it really isn't needed.

Seems a bit high but better than the 86C at load with stock cooler.

CPU was getting up to 76C at load.
 
Reseated my GPU - one was dead so its RMA'd.

Other GPU is fine... temp is amazing. 36 idle 41 load
CPU is 34 Idle and 51C load
