Not that there aren't a dozen of these posts a week but I can't figure out why I'm running so hot.
My 2.8c is running at 45c idle.
Case temp is 35c idle.
Both of these are reports from MBM 5
This is at stock Vcore voltage although it is running at 233 FSB.
Since my Abit IC7 Max 3 doesn't report very reliable temps, nor is checking in the BIOS an accurate way to check under load I opted to try MBM
Is MBM at least accurate within a 1 degree C or so?
I'm going to clean/re-apply AS5 to the HSF after I post this.
My cooling otherwise is as follows:
CPU HSF - Zalman 7000Cu
NB - Zalman NB-J47 Passive Heatsink
2 x 80mm Adda fans (intake) approx. 25 CFM
1 x 80mm Adda fan (blowhole) approx. 25 CFM
2 x 80mm SilenX fan (rear exhaust) approx 28 CFM
As a sidenote, one of my intakes blows directly across my RAM modules, then across the CPU. Although they don't move very much air.
I'm thinking that maybe I just need more airflow but something is telling me that isn't the case. My case is very clear of wires, there is a good path for air to follow, my fans aren't super powerful but they placed smartly and are free of obstruction.
