I wanted to see how hot the computer was running so I downloaded some temp programs. I found out that all of them are only showing CPU 0 as active.

Ive tried TAT, Core Temp, Speedfan, all of them show wildy different temps too.

I have a e4300 over clocked to 2.4ghz as evident in my sig.

Heres a shot of all of them along with CPU-Z saying I have just 1 core and a weird multiplier

What the hell is going on?
 
What motherboard do you have?
Cause not only are things reporting way off, one shows you've got a Pentium M! and you've got 0 volts on your +12v rail!

How long has it only been showing only 1 core?
The systems you describe is usually from installing the OS using a cpu with only 1 core and then upgrading to a dual core without reinstalling the OS. If that is what you did, than you either have to reinstall windows or find a way to change the "HAL" in the windows to recognize that the cpu has 2 cores. If you do a search you will find out how you may be able to do that with out re-installing windows.

PS. TAT always shows that your running a mobile cpu, even on a desktop, so that is normal. TAT was designed for laptop cpu's.
 
Yes I was just going to post that my HAL is wrong and that it sounds like thats the problem.

Heres what I did that I think broke it:

In OS X (hackintosh) I installed Parallels and had it use my native Vista partition since I wanted to see if I could run emule with it. When you do that it pretty much installs all sorts of new drivers and does weird crap to your install. Im guessing it changes the processor so it can emulate it in a virtual machine environment, which for some reason probably causes the HAL to change. I'll try repairing windows, if that doesnt work I have a backup image to restore using Arconis.

All that and Parallels didnt even work, the piece of crap cant see other hdd's or partitions, making emule useless for me. Bloody hell.
