I upgraded my rig from P4 to AMD64 last week.
The following are my new spec:

AMD64 3500+ newcastle
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
Leadtek 6600GT Extreme PCI-E x2
Kingston HyperX 433mhz 256mb x2 (old)
Seagate SATA 80GB x2 raid 0 (old)
Lite-On 16x DVD-writter
View Sonic VG910B LCD minitor
Creative Audigy 2 ZS
Creative S750 THX speaker
Thermaltake W008 PFC 420watt (old)
Thermaltake Xaser III V2000A (old)
Window XP SP2

my problem is: when i play the game and 3Dmark 03 & 05 after 5 min,
the screen look terrible, some green box blinking in the display.
Is it due to my PSU is too weak to run SLI?
And I found that the VGA temp is very high 88c.
when idle it only at 60c.
Is this normal, 88c load ??
i know this high temp can cook my egg already,is it

i've test all the driver such as:
66.93
67.66
70.78
71.21
71.24
71.40
71.50
but, it is nothing help at all.
i've spend 1 week time to try to solve this problem....
Can somebody help me?

That does seem quite high for a pair of 6600s. I have two 6800GTs and an FX-55 and mine idle in the low fifties and hit the high 60s when at load.

Do you have any air ventilation in the case (i.e. exhaust fans)? You may want to swap a high quality PSU in there just to see if that will help any. Get a PSU from Antec, Enermax, PCPC, Forton, Sparkle, or OCZ with at least 400W and I am venturing that it might be better to get a 450W+ one just in case.

I have the Sparkle 550w from Newegg. The fan doesn't cool it enough. I've rigged another fan to it but my PS temps still hover in the 50c area after extended use (Use to get up to 70c).

Great PS but too hard to cool it. Especially with your power draw.

Dude , our rig specs are close. I run 42 idle on the cards and 44 idle on my cpu. Something is very wrong there dude. Do you have good ventilation?

I would venture a guess that your cpu heat sink is not properly seated or somehting. I went stock cooler on the CPU but removed thier shit and used AS5

Maybe your PSU is not ventilating properly or overheating or both , just tossing it at the wall to see what sticks

Make sure you turn of show load balance in your SLI control panel , that could be the green box you seeing. Also make sure your chipset drivers were installed first , then all your windows updates then video drivers installed last and make sure your using bios 1002 becuase 1003 is a cluster fuck Oh and 6693 is the driver to use for now.

ok..actually I'm use Thetmalright SLK948U (old) right now,
my cpu temp idle is around 40c only, but the card chip is too hot..
and I also turn of show load balance in your SLI control panel ,is same..

Then I try decrease the GPU core and memory clock
from default 550/1100 downgrade to 500/1000 just now,
and never see the green box appear again, but the temp is also same. ( 85c )

another problem now is my PSU,every time after shutdown my pc
it cann't wake up again by pressing power button,
untill I turn off the PSU (back) button and then turn on again,
It's work....everytime want to do that step..what's wrong??
I think my PSU is out already :(

( I'm planning to get the new PSU,which one are you recommend? )

yea even your idel temps are high for the 6600gt. my 6800gt that is OC'ed ides at ~50 depending on the abient it will go as low as the 40's and load is around 70. I have seen lots of people creating threads lately with 6600gt's with high load temps.

See my above post. I am leaning more toward Antec, Enermax, or PCPC. I have a PCPC and it is rock solid even with all the stuff I have in my machine.
