temp difference between cores?

Installed True 120 cpu cooler with dual fans and there is 10'C difference between cores 0 and 3.

Is it OK or did the installation go wrong? Does the cooler need some kind of vertical support?

Evga x58 sli motherboard + I7 920 C0 2.66@3.7ghz
 
It's perfectly normal to see variations between the cores. As long as your temperatures are safe (which they most certainly are), it doesn't matter how much difference there is.
 
This is normal. I typically have a 4C difference between my coolest and warmest core.
 
6c average for me, but I've seen some cpus with 12c differences from core 0 to core 4
 
3C variation here from hottest (Core 0 & 2) and coolest (Core 3).. i7 920 D0 on H50. I don't think Megahalems had any different results when I had it on.
 
Just offering more reassurance, and thanks for posting this as I was curious about it as well.
Mine idle @ 26c (0,2)/23c (1,3), under load @ 47c (0,2)/43c (1,3)
 
Lapping the heatsink and cpu may help, but it could be an issue under the IHS or sensor calibrations.
 
I heard that you shouldn't have more than 7 degrees of difference on idle temps.
