TechTool Pro defrag doesn't work

I tried using TechTool Pro 5.0.7 to defragment my drive, and after 12 hours, it said it was less than 1% complete. Are there any other ways to do this that might work?

OS X defrags files under 20MB on the fly. You'd need a fairly compelling reason to want to defrag larger files.

So, I say: Don't bother.

My free space is fragmented, which means my swap is fragmented, which means my performance is shit.

I have a compelling reason.

Every file system fragments, every single one of them, just for the record. Some file systems fragment less by design, some because of additional functionality to do defrag on the fly as noted, but all of them fragment to some degree or another, some worse than others.

If TechTool isn't working, there's always iDefrag, and a few others you can use.
