Right now there are no valid Technet coupons available, and believe me I did an exhaustive search just last week for a friend that wanted to renew his old one but let it expire so he's starting from scratch.

Couldn't find a one, and all the old ones weren't accepted as valid. I doubt you'll ever find any discount codes or coupons for the Standard membership, the $199 price was chosen for a reason - it's cheap and most anyone can handle it so, don't expect it to ever be lower unless Microsoft lowers it themselves.

The Professional membership would be where the coupons would apply so that should be the focus in the search. I don't expect to see any coupons anytime soon...

You can get the subscriptions from a reseller cheaper than MS sells them quite often.
