I am a tech working for a retail company and i wanted some advice from yall!!

The company is paying for my mcdst and i have a total of 15 days to study and pass the exam or they said i will be removed from the position and put on the sales floor. They gave us a training course to take but they arent giving me the time to complete it . I am having to do all of this on my own FREE time.

Currently my position is the tech . We have a position for a lead tech available but they wont premote me. I have been with the company for 2 years and literally bend over backwards....answering calls when im off and comming in to help out. No one else is as knowledgible as i am . but yet i dont get paid for it.

My question to yall is how difficult is the mcdst and has anyone taken it....and if so what did they use to study for the test???

Thanks a bunch Guys...

depending on which state/country you live in, that can be deemed as illegal because force you pass something or you'll lose your job. but good luck with the test.

to me it would be considered losing my job because i love to work on computers....They would probably stick me on the game isle selling that....but id rather take my knowledge else where if that were the case...

These tests are not that difficult (however I am an MCT so take that with a grain of salt). If you have a more that advanced knowledge of Windows XP including how to deploy the operating system, Manage the OS specifically ACLs, and how to troubleshoot the OS, you will be fine.

However if you have not been studying for the past week or so then taking this test may be daunting.

Also make sure you take this clinic before going into the tests. It is more useful than you would anticipate.
