I am wanting to build a new computer after I sell 2 of my old ones. And I am
very interested in Thermal Electric Cooling but dont know anyone who has
played with it yet.

So I am crying out to all of you guys for a little info.

What kind of cooling and overclocking are you guys gettting?
Any suggestions on which parts to go with?
etc

Thanks
Tman

Well, just as a start...

Do a lot of research. Pelts aren't the most efficient things in the world, and if/when they fail, they will fail catastrophically. Always.

That being said... If you are looking to cool your CPU you will need no less than a 226 watt peltier. This is to ensure that the peltier can remove all of the heat that you are throwing at it. If it can't transfer it from one side to the other, it will start to act as an insulator, and you don't want that.

You will also need a separate power supply to feed your pelt with. You won't be able to run it off of the same ATX supply your computer is using.

I would suggest water cooling the hot side of the peltier. Its not essential, but will work 10x better than air.

You'll also need to make your socket condensation proof. That means loading it up with di-electric grease and neoprene. You'll be getting sub-ambient temps, and condensation WILL form.

Do you know how TECs themselves work? And their most efficient operating points and such like that?

Im air cooling a 110W Pelt at the moment. It works pretty well. Some drastic air cooling tho. Search for a thread with 437W dominator pro in the title. Lots of good information on extreme cooling with a tec
