We are going to elect 3 team leaders for the [H]orde. At that point, the team can define its direction and decide on finer points such as charters etc. Much of this has been discussed and there are a lot of things to be figured out, but we need some leaders in place to do this.

I asked this before, but the thread went way off topic and a good bit of time has passed and things have calmed down.

If you want to suggest yourself for team leader, please do so here and now and tell us why you want to lead.

DO NOT reply in this thread unless you are putting your own name in the hat.

If you want to talk about who you want for team leader, please encourage them to do so here.

Let me be the first to drop my name in the hat :)

As for why the team should consider me, let me just enumerate my personnal leadership rules then you will judge me based on this :

-A leader should serve the whole team, not the other way.
-The [H]orde would never bitch against members who decided to pick a different DC project. The [H]orde will support anything who is giving cpu cycles toward a medical project, no matter which.
-Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and diversity should be welcomed, not repressed. In case someone bring a opposite opinion, always try to understand why instead of flaming.
-Always try to help those who are newbies in the DC scene with the client choice, setup and other stuff.
-Would be willing to put the weight on his own opinion if needed. A leader need to be strong.
-Is ready to delegate tasks (guides, contests, testing, etc...) to others if needed and guide them in the right path.
-Is there to cheer the whole team so there is always some fun and pride to be part of the nicest team, not just the best.

If I ever break one of those rules, I will resign as a leader without questions. For now, I'm willing to give it a try for a few months then we'll see :)

I have been waiting a week to see these slots filled.

We all know that true competitors ask for the ball when the stakes are on the line.

I am a overworked person who absolutely has no time for this, but seeing the results of this thread has discouraged me.

I have two friends dying of cancer, and a father in the early stages of Alzheimer's. This is important to me. I want to see everyone do good for the sake of doing good.

I will warn everyone that more does not equal better. I want to see the researchers getting what they want, and am willing to talk to the powers that be to make this right. This is about efficiency.

If I am appointed flecom has my ear for anything pertinent, he is carrying this team.

Given only two folks have stepped forward to lead the team, I am going to assume we just don't have a group of people who want to lead.

I am going to step out of the way and end my efforts to get the team to organize itself. Let me know how this all works out for the [H]orde.
