IGN has spent some time with Team Fortress 2 and would love to tell you all about their take on it.

After playing four maps and testing out all nine classes in Team Fortress 2, it seems this game should be another of this year's entertaining arena shooters. It comes as part of the Orange and Black Box packages, which both contain Half-Life 2: Episode 2 and the first-person puzzler Portal.

I have been waiting for this game for 10 years I think!

My friends and I played the hell out of Team Fortress Classic when it first came out, so i can't wait to see what this new version plays like.

I'm really digging the cell-shaded bit, too.
 
I can't imagine how many hours I've spent playing Dustbowl...
Love the fact that it's free content.
 
free content but not free to play i think; as in i think u have to buy it; i only saw mention of hl2 episode + tf2 + something else for 49.99, didn't see a price point anywhere. Anyone know..?
 
anyone else think that looks like shit? i don't dig the cartoon look at all. i remember when they first talked about it...what...almost 10 years ago...it had a military theme. now it looks like i'll be playing the incredibles with guns.

Yeah and a military theme is really original...:rolleyes:
 
I'll probably get it, but I am more eager to see Fortress-Forever. The seem (at least from the screen shots that they have stuck to overall theme of TFC vs. the more "cartoonish" varient from Valve and friends.

Sigh.. either way, its been waaaaaaaaaaaaay too long since any type of release. FF has been released on beta servers for quite some time, and they don't update their page that often, but thats still an improvement over anything Valve/Steam has done with TF2 IMO.

Judging by the tone of just about every other post in the thread....yeah, I'd say you're the only one that feels that way. ;)
 
I love the change from super realistic games that require half of nasa to run.


TF2 looks FUN. I cant say that about more than 2-3 games released the past 3 years.
 
I'm excited for TF2 but I would rather have the original game. I'm sure it'll be fun but I bet I'll still lament the loss of 'nades and certain class specific weapons (R.I.P. pyro's napalm rocket launcher)
 
I loved the original Team Fortress on quakeworld. Best ever with the sound effect packages. Who can forget Homer S yelling when he got it with a nailgun? In fact I go so far as to say that was the best FPS team game ever. Ahh the good old days.
