By using action-prediction algorithms, researchers at MIT are able to predict what happens in a video before it happens. Its kinda like watching movies with that annoying friend we all have that always says stuff like "they're going to kiss" or "someone is hiding behind that door."

wow, hands extended, hug. That's really a no brainer... One hand extended with hand sideways... Handshake. I guessed it with 100% accuracy.

And when you're a computer, I'll be impressed with your feat.

Computer image recognition is hard.

I guess I wasn't looking at it as a feat of programming and recognition, thus probably didn't get much of a "wow" out of it.

This is actually REALLY cool and has great implications for AI in video games. Right now, AI is purely scripted, meaning it follows a set script based on input. If it could take a look at how you are playing and actually think about what is possible for you to do, what is likely, and what is most likely and predict your moves, we could be looking at MUCH more realistic AI.
