TDX owners, one question

Hey I just got TDX from DD today, and it looks a little weird. The brass top is a little off the copper base. It does look to have been attached securely (can't test yet since I didn't get my tubing yet), but while the top and base look to be of the same width, the copper bottom is sticking out on one side and the brass top on the other. The difference is about 2-3 mm.

What I wonder - is that a defect and something I should be worried about or is that normal? Does anyone else with TDX notice that the base is a little off?

I like the brass top but it's not fitted correctly. Damn, and it took them 4 days to ship this thing. I don't think I'm gonna accept this. This thing is a disaster waiting to happen (uneven mounting etc...) SHould have gotten a swiftech :(

mine is schedualed to arrive tuesday. i ordered the exact same thing, brass top... i dont trust the lucite...

i will post its condition when i get it.

It's shifted on both axis - more sideways tho. Still, I dunno if it's gonna leak or just mount unevenly on the cpu. Either way, it's gotta go.

I got my TDX today as well, and no mine is not shifted like that. Mine lines up almost perfectly.

That sux. I keep gettin shafted left and right. First Jab-tech screws me over with a faulty nv5 they refuse to replace (manufacturer's defect), and now this. Gah, hopefully, DD RMA won't be a trouble, I hope.

lol, you gotta love that "warranty voided if removed" sticker. Whoever slapped that sticker on must have seen how mislined that top is. I wouldn't try adjusting it yourself, you don't want to break the sticker. Trying to fix the top without breaking that sticker is like playing with electronics and water - oh wait......

according to danger den removing that sticker wont void your warranty, how else will you change the accelerator plates?

I was looking down the inlet barb on the TDX and noticed the gasket for the accelerator plates is visible? Do you guys get the same thing?

I see the edges of the default accelerator nozzle (black), and the ridges in the copper bottom.

So do u guys confirm that everyone's TDX is alligned perfectly without the ledges b/n the top and the copper base?

HybridHB block looks almost perfect, but i do see a little overlap in the left, could be the photo though.
why dont you email them some picks?

The block is fine to me. Like i said before its *almost* perfect. One side is a tad out of alignment but its not noticable unless your looking for it. Its more noticable in the pic than it is in person.

E-mailed DD on Saturday, and this morning, no response. I also realized that due to the misalignment, the inlet is not directly over the intended center of the copper base which will invariably affect the performance. I am really  now ;)

I just received my TDX today too and its perfectly aligned. However, one of the nozzles they shipped me was broken (#2) but since I used #4 it doesn't really matter.

TehQuick, I just got my nice shiny new TDX w/ brass top today. It isnt perfect  However, it isn't as bad as yours. Mine seems to be off by about half of what yours is. I dont think it will be a problem, i dont want to go through the hassle of mailing it back and waiting for a new one.

have you gotten a hold of DD yet? are they gonna RMA it for ya?

thats sucks man.
i have always seeing good things from dd

lol yeah they got back to me. They say to send it back for an exchange, and he says he is gonna check out the machine to determine the cause of misalignment. Why is this happenning only to me? I am sending a NV5 with an uneven base for an exchange too. What a coincidence huh?

Maybe where you live there's an uber strong magnetic field that's twisting metals out of alignment. :p
