I have a tbred athlon 2700 but read one guy wanting a 2500 barton instead of the 2700, and the problem was not the difference in price. why is the barton so much better, i was able to oc my 2700 to 2470 mhz, could a 2500 do better? and why would amd put a worse core in a faster cpu?

A T-Bred only has 256K of L2 cache, a Barton has double that at 512K.

cache my friend.... makes the difference: Cache- Is a place to store something more or less temporarily. Web pages you’ve visited are stored in your browser’s cache directory on your hard disk . Likewise, ISPs cache web pages which speeds up access times for users, as the page is being read from the cache memory and not downloaded from the actual web site. See Also: Browser, ISPs Go to top
