Targeted Guided Surgery AR System Granted Clearance by FDA

German company Scopis has successfully petitioned and been granted clearance by the FDA to bring it's augmented reality surgery technology to the USA. The Scopis AR system is designed to assist doctors treating during ENT surgeries. ENT is Otolaryngology or in layman's terms ear, nose, and throat. "Scopis’ next-generation Target-Guided Surgery Systems (TGS)*, lead a surgeon along mapped-out pathways directly to anatomical targets using AR-generated images overlaid onto the surgeon’s endoscopic view." Automatic head tracking and electromagnetic imaging assist the surgeon by laying previously captured images over the real time video coming from the endoscope.
